Lowndes County Emergency Management is teaming up with GEMA, the NWS, and NOAA to provide residents with a daily roadmap for safety. From Sunday, May 3, through Saturday, May 9, the community will focus on specific themes like understanding forecasts, securing insurance early (remember the 30-day waiting period!), and staying safe after the storm has passed. VCS Announces Transition: Advanced Learning Moving to Home Campuses

Valdosta City Schools is moving toward a more integrated model for advanced academics. Effective June 30, 2026, the VECA program will be discontinued as the district shifts focus toward strengthening honors, AP, IB, and Dual Enrollment programs directly within students' home schools. This move aims to eliminate the duplication of services and allow students to fully engage in athletics and extracurriculars without sacrificing academic rigor.

The Viking Baseball team just shut out Mountain View (3-0 and 15-0) to advance in the Class 6A State Playoffs, while our Tennis squads made quick work of Collins Hill.
